CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - A man had gone wild he was refused to ride a bus when the guards discovered that he hid a knife. The guy suffered from depression and had a nervous breakdown when he was not allowed to go on board. Policemen tried to negotiate with him to calm down. They also tried to get his attention but failed. Instead, he attacked the cops and guards in the bus terminal with his knife. The authorities had no choice to open fire. He ended up down with gunshot that took his life away.

But Verdin tried to attack the police by stabbing which forced them to fire a warning shot. Verdin was not frightened and he continued to attack the officers which he almost stabbed. The amok reached the area where crowd is and it caused people to panic.
Elmer was taken down with a fatal wound on his abdomen.
There were 6 casualties in this event from astray bullets. There were guards who suffered from stab wounds. According to the reports, they were now in good condition and recovering well.
Verdin's family stated that he was suffering from depression that most likely caused his nervous breakdown.
