METRO MANILA -- A church wedding was taken into the advantage of the robbers who crashed in the event to steal money, but the wedding footage was recorded where the whole 'modus operandi' of the group was clearly exposed.
According to Rona during her interview with GMA, not her real name, she thought the five suspects (all girls) were part of the church people and she added that they mimicked the uniform of the church which she believed was unfair.
The wedding videographer captured the robbery scene and this looks like more of a movie scene. In the footage, two suspects acted as a look out while the other one was hustling the target victim taking advantage of the moment where the groom was kissing the bridge.
The girl suspect was clearly caught in the video throwing petals even when the petals ran out while sticking closely to the victim and wearing her smiling face while watching the newlyweds.
Another two suspects were working simultaneously where one used her blue jacket and the other girl in the front used her large handbag to cover the victim.
Once they made sure that the bag of the victim was well-covered, they immediately pulled a white paper from the bag with P30,000 cash inside of it.
Duration of the crime was less than 1 minute. Rona said that it was a planned robbery as she believed that she was already targeted inside the church because took out that white paper with cash inside during the offertory rites. She never thought that she would be victimized inside a sacred place like church.
Authorities said that this is a new style to steal, wearing uniforms of the church and crashing on weddings. There were no leads to the five suspects yet as per the police.
