Filipino in US saves life of a passenger from burning car, called hero by netizens

REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA –- Netizens hailed a former Filipino appointee of President George W. Bush after he rescued a passenger from a burning car in Chicago.

This 'good samaritan' was identified as Rudy Pamintuan from Illinois. He posted on his Facebook page that he witnessed an accident at the Kennedy Expressway and he helped the person to escape out of a burning vehicle.

His friends are now calling him a hero, as well as the netizens.

Pamintuan is a well-known individual in the Chicago Pinoy community for being a former appointee of President Bush to serve as Chairman of the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian-American and Pacific Islanders.

Currently, he is managing an international affairs firm.
