Marlisa Punzalan's performances on 'X Factor Australia' Finals

AUSTRALIA -- The 15-year-old Filipino-Australian contender pleased the crowd with her performances on the grand finals of "X Factor Australia" on Sunday.

Marlisa Punzalan performed three songs as well as the other finalists.

Her first song was "Yesterday" by The Beatles, the same piece she belted out during the auditions, made the judges gave her a standing ovation.

Ronan Keating, Marlisa's mentor, was wowed along with the other judges with her first performance.

"We've got a big show in our hands, we've got incredible performances on the way...from all of the contestants. But I tell you what, you've picked a great time to get a standing ovation. Wow! You have been such an incredible person throughout this whole journey, and as a mentor, I couldn't have asked for a better contestant." said Ronan Keating.

Punzalan belted out her own rendition of "Stand By You" on her second performance. If she becomes the grand champion of X Factor Australia, this will be her single.

This 'winner's single' performance by Marlisa received another standing ovation from the judges.

"Marlisa, I keep kind of thinking about the progression which I'm talking about all the time with you, but I think, what you guys have done together is fantastic. But Dannii did say something to you like probably four or five weeks ago, about making sure that you're connecting to the lyric and you do that now, every single performance. It's so good to watch someone come from, the first audition to be really shy, and then get to the level that you are. It's just, it's grown. Well done, you guys." Natalie Bassingthwaighte said.

The last performance was a duet where Punzalan was joined with the Australian R&B and pop singer Jessica Mauboy to sing "Never Be The Same."

But before this, a short clip showing Keating brought back Punzalan to her hometown where the whole school and friends and family cheered for her and showed love and support to her. She performed inside a shopping mall as well.
