This sick old man was brought to our attention due to a Facebook post wanting to help him by raising funds through collecting some money from the netizens voluntarily, but after some research we found out that this was a 'modus operandi' already exposed last August 18 by ABS-CBN's Bistado.

Accoring to "Liza," when she was driving along the Ortigas Ave. she saw an old man on the sidewalk who was extremely in pain that caught her attention and decided to stop by.
This 66-year-old man's main concern is to have a proper burial of his son. That's when Liza sought help by posting the story in her social media account.
Many have reached out, gave sympathy and helped financially through depositing spare amounts of money to her bank account. She collected almost P10,000 (more or less $220). But by the time when she was to give the funds to this old man, she read some negative comments from the people who already encountered this 'sick lolo'. They said that he's telling lies to beg for some money.
Here's the video from Bistado titled as "Modus Operandi: Sick Lolo begs for money"
Here's the Facebook post from a netizen who believed from the lies of "sick lolo"
Today we passed by a man walking along Lawton Avenue under blazing heat with just an umbrella in hand and a sprained ankle. I couldn't tolerate the fact that people just passed by him without a care, so we turned our car around and stopped in front of him only to find out a grim story behind.
He came all the way from Silang, Cavite with the slightest chance of hope to ask for help from his former construction co-workers. He needed money to pay for the permit to bury his two kids who died of starvation due to lack of food whilst staying in the Villamor Airbase's evacuation center. These two kids were named John Rey and Michel Mejia who were both rescued with him from Tacloban back in November 2013 due to the Yolanda typhoon. Before the rescue he already lost his wife, two brothers, and two more of his kids in the flood.
He has asked for help from our government officials, and was always returned with a gruesome response, "walang pondo." The name of this man is AURELLO MEJIA, we have already dropped him to a ride back to Cavite along with enough money to pay for his kids' burial. All he asks for is to go back home to Tacloban, and all I ask for is for you to simply click the SHARE button, until we create enough awareness. Please help a fellow citizen in need. Please.
Later on, this post was edited after it came to her knowledge that Aurello Mejia (sick lolo) was just all lies for the sake of money. The netizen with a big heart said that he or she will no longer entertain any donations.
"Lolo Aurello has already been exposed in a TV program by ABS-CBN's "Bistado" show last 18th of Aug 2014. Apparently, he has been telling the same story every time just with different events. It deeply saddens me that lolo had to go through this extent just to beg for money." --Quoted from the original post.
