Migraine

Have you ever felt that agonizing pain in your head that makes you think that your head is about to crack open? This pain will also cause you that urge to hit your head against a wall or with a hard object just to relieve yourself from pain. Sounds familiar, right? Yes, you might be having a migraine.

A migraine is a type of headache. It is characterized by acute pain, sometimes over an eye which will also affect our vision and balance. Nausea and vomiting are also considered as symptoms of a migraine. The exact cause of this condition is not yet identified. Some factors like body's reaction to certain food, loud noises, stress (in general), and hormonal changes may trigger a migraine. In addition, it is also believed that this is the result of physiologic changes in the brain.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE A MIGRAINE?

Although there are over-the-counter prescription medications available, a lot of people still prefer the natural way of relieving themselves from pain. According to the book Health Essentials: Healing Herbs by Jessica Houdret, here are some suggested ways to counter the effects of a migraine.
