LA UNION, Philippines - A public school student in San Fernando City, La Union has speak up regarding the alleged "possession" that happened after she took selfies along with her classmates near a 'duhat' tree located behind the school premises.

This kid was kept anonymous behind a screen name "Josephine". She stated that it was on July 10, 2014, when they took selfies while cleaning the back of their school area.

During an interview with ABS-CBN, she stated:

"Nung araw po na yun naglilinis po kami sa likod ng eskwelahan. Naisipan po naming mag-selfie. Nagtalon-talon po kami na parang wacky. Pagkatapos po pumasok na po kami sa classroom. Tapos nahihilo na po ako"

Her homeroom teacher, Alfie Apolinar, said that he found something unusual to his five students which apparently became dizzy all of a sudden. He also added that some of his students were afraid when they saw them became somewhat stiffed.

Josephine said she saw a man with dark appearance and red eyes when she looked out of the window near the duhat tree.
"Tinuturo ko yung puno dun sa likod ng eskwelahan namin kasi po dun ko po nakita ko yung lalaki. Maitim po at pula yung mata niya. Sinara na po ni sir yung bintana para di ko po makita"

An 'albularyo' (folk healer) in their town carried out a ritual and found out a "kapre" as well as other earth spirits are living near the tree where Josephine and her classmates took selfies.

Josephine indicates that they possibly stepped off on a house of 'old man of the mound' (dwarfs). She also added that a male dwarf died that's why the queen got really mad.

Another student got possessed and was identified as "Emily". Her parents reconciles with the spirits by offering them wine, food, candles and a barbie doll. They also buried the smartphone students used by taking their photos near spirits' territory.

According to the barrio officer, Mercita Sulmarin, that the students are still getting possessed in school.

An explanation from a medical allied, Estrella Tiongson-Magno (clinical psychologist), was taken and she said that the alleged possession of the students is a possibility of having a hysterical reaction as well as to seek attentions.

Father Manuel Ragil, parochial vicar of St. William the Hermit Cathedral, and the church have asked prayers for the students and to deliver us from evil.
"We have to ask for protection. The best protection for us is prayer"
