MANILA – Lyca Gairanod from the Team Sarah was hailed to be the first grand champion of 'The Voice Kids' Philippines 2014 last Sunday, July 27, 2014. Lyca and her parents were emotional when her name was announced.
The competition results were based on the grand final set of performances by the 'final 4' which was held on Saturday night, July 26, 2014, at Resorts World Manila.
There were also additional performance numbers of the finalists with their favorite singers and celebrities the next night when the grand performer joined the 'Aegis band' and sang the group's top hit song "Basang Basa Sa Ulan".
Coach Sarah said nothing but praises to her apprentice, Lyca. She strongly believed that the 'little superstar' will always be loved by the masses for her unique triumphant voice and great personality.
The first runner-up went to Darren Espanto, also from Team Sarah and followed by Juan Karlos Labajo from Team Bamboo, ànd last but not the least, Team Lea's Darlene Vibares.
Apart from being the reigning champion of 'The Voice Kids', Lyca went home with P1 million cold cash, house and lot from Camella Homes with home appliance showcase and musical instrument showcase as well as a P1 million worth of trust fund.
She also has a recording contract with MCA Universal Records.
