Huawei Technologies Philippines Inc. is asking for the approval of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to launch virtual teller machines (VTMs) in the Philippines, as this is the new breed of automated teller machines (ATMs) according to the Chinese multinational company.
Dennis Benipayo, Huawei business development manager, said that the guidance of BSP is necessary before the implementation of the VTMs to be used by the local banks.

We're trying to talk to BSP. We've already aired our concerns and asked what's their take on the VTM," Benipayo said.
But as per Deputy Governor Nestor Espenilla, there is no formal inquiry from Huawei regarding VTMs as of yet. "I'm not aware of it yet. I'll have to find out," a text message he sent to GMA News Online.
New technology was used in Huawei's eSpace VTM and it inclues high definition (HD) video communication, intelligent routing, and cloud collaboration technology.

David Zhang, Huawei director for enterprise product solutions sales, claimed the advantages of using their VTMs such as reducing transaction costs, increasing banks' revenues, and improving customer satisfaction and end-user experience.
“VTMs are about 24/7 round-the-clock service with high security... Deployment is easy and can be installed in many high traffic spots like shopping mall, business campus, airports, hotels, etc.,” David Zhang noted.
The Chinese multinational company is waiting a go signal from BSP, and once approval is granted they will roll out the new virtual teller machines in a commercial scale, Huawei manager Benipayo said.
