Magnitude 5.7 Earthquake Hit Philippines

Philippines - At 7:52 PM (Philippine Time) on June 25, 2014, today, an magnitude 5.7 earthquake just occurred in Batangas. It's epicenter was found at 22-kilometer southwest Calatagan, Batangas as per the initial bulletin.



The initial computation around 7:52 PM (Philippine Time) recorded a magnitude 5.7 in Mindoro Province, said by Solidum during the interview on dzBB radio. Also, Puerto Galera experienced an intensity 5 quake while Bulacan, Metro Manila and Mandaluyong City at intensity 4.

The possible reason for this quake event is due to a movement of the Manila Trench or the Lubang Fault.

There were no damages reported but expect some after shocks, Joel Locsin/NB said.
