WARNING: LPA, possible to become Typhoon Kanor in 48 hours' time

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) continues to observe the low pressure area in the Eastern Visayas.

As per PAGASA weather forecaster Connie Rose Dadivas, it is possible that the LPA will become a typhoon in 48 hours' time. It this continues to be a tropical depression, this will be named as Typhoon Kanor.

It was last sighted 770 kilometers of East Borongan, Eastern Samar.

As of now, it is possible to landfall in Northern Luzon, but it might also deviate and miss the land.

This is expected to be in the category of tropical storm with 65-85 kilometer per hour (kph) typhoon force winds. This will being rainshowers in the country, Dadivas added.

There will be scant rainshowers and thunderstorms in the Visayas region as well as the CARAGA region, Northern Mindano, and Zamboanga peninsula.

It will be partly cloudy with minimal rainfalls in Metro Manila and in other parts of the country.
