BACOLOD CITY - A 70-year-old woman was found outside her house with no life. The incident happened in Purok Esperanza, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City on Thursday, July 24, 2014.
The old woman was identified as Eledina Gabitanan. Her head was seen just a few meters where his son was sitting inside their house.
The reports stated that the neighbors heard Eledina was shouting for help at 3 in the morning.
A neighbor responded, Rosalinda Alfsicar, and went to their barangay to seek for help.
Rosalinda and the barangay officials arrived in Gabitanan's house but they only saw Percival, son of Eledina, sitting down as if nothing happened.
It was found out that Percival already cleaned the body of his dead mother before the officials arrived.
The suspect, Percival, tied his mother before killing her as per ABS-CBN news team.
He also declared that he was just having a normal conversation with his mother when she suddenly changed her appearance into an 'aswang'.
After witnessing her mother allegedly changed in appearance, he stabbed her with a bamboo straight to her chest but did not pierce through her. He then decided just to cut off her head to end her life for becoming an 'aswang'.
According to the authorities of police station 8 and the deputy commander Inspector Richard Fajarito, the statement given by Percival was inconsistent. At the end, the suspect admitted that he was on illegal drugs.
Percival Gabitanan will face parricide charges for taking the life of her own parent.
