This incident happened in Zimbabwe, an African nation with numerous Christian sects. Pastor Jonathan Mthethwa tried to imitate how Jesus Christ walked on water. He claimed that he obtained a divine power to pull off such feats. His attempt to walk on water ended tragically.
Witnesses saw how Jonathan attempted to walk like Christ in a crocodile-infested river. According to the witness named Deacon Nkos (reported by DailyPost):
"The pastor promised he would demonstrate his faith to us today, promised he would demonstrate his faith to us today, but he, unfortunately, ended up drowning and getting eaten by three large crocodiles in front of us.
"We still don't understand how this happened because he fasted and prayed the whole week. They finished him in a couple of minutes.

Jonathan Mthethwa may have gone full schizophrenic after fasting and praying for a whole week before walking on water like Christ. These factors may have led him to become fully delusional and have a false sense of omnipotence.
Incidents like this aren't new. Months ago, a pastor convinced his followers that faith can make his followers avoid death by drinking a mineral water with rat poison. Grandiose delusions may have pushed pastors to commit such acts in the name of faith.
