Manila, Philippines - It was on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, when the journalist Teodoro "Teddy" Locsin Jr. released his frustration in Twitter because of the very slow internet speed providing by the one of the biggest telecommunication companies in the Philippines, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT).
I am paying P3,900 for 0.57 mbps. Hoy, PLDT putangina niyo lahat.
— Teddy Locsin Jr. (@teddyboylocsin) June 30, 2014
Teddy is also a politician who served as the 1st District of Makati congressman from 2001 up to 2010 period. He's also a newscaster for the ANC's The World Tonight newscast.
Teddyboy made a tweet last Wednesday stating his disappointment on the service provided by PLDT. He's paying P3,900 (roughly $90) per month but he's only getting 0.57 mbps which he did not like. It is because the service he's getting is not inline with what he's paying for. He should be getting more for paying P3,900 per month.
PLDT service has a lot of negative issues since they started servicing the Filipino people, especially the internet connections. PLDT is considered to be the largest telco in the country. In fact, they have numerous acquisition and that includes, but not limited to, SMART, SUN, and Digitel which're known to be players in the telco industry.
Despite all of the acquisition and working for widening the company's influence, the service is still UNDERRATED. Some netizens who experienced and keep on experiencing bad service from them gave the company another name "PLDC" which the "DC" stands for DISCONNECTION.
