A Smartphone by Google Under $100 To Be Released

Worldwide - On June 25, 2014, Wednesday, Google I/O Developers held their conference at Moscone Center San Francisco, California.

"There are billions of people, in fact who still don't have access to a smartphone" - Sundar Pichai, Senior Vice President of Google.

They revealed the ANDROID ONE as a low-cost super affordable smartphone and it's going to be in the emerging markets very soon. They are working on this as part of the global initiatives in terms of technology.

During the conference, Sundar Pichai gladly declares that there are 1 billion android users over the 30-day period.



It's going to be launched in the fall of this year in India and it will also be in other countries around world. Sundar Pichai also mentioned that they are negotiating to the telecom companies to provide cheaper services with the new smartphone package.

This affordable smartphone comes in with the basic features including wifi and FM radio with a 4.5-inch screen for only less than $100.

Aside from its minimalist feature, the new android phone will have a new user interface called "L" which will give the users a new look and new feel. This new OS (operating system) will have an enhanced notification and better performance.



Google I/O Developers are working hard to reach out to other big tech giants in the industry to produce a high-quality affordable smartphones and with cheaper data plans.

Google wants to bring billions of people over the Internet and have access to the world's information. One little step is to standardized a low-cost high-quality smartphones in the worldwide market. Though, this is really going to be a long road to go and it will take some years to bring the next 2-3 billions of people on the Internet.
