Philippines - There has been a controversy going on over the Internet about a Bontoc woman allegedly raped her boyfriend 12 times. Though, this controversial news believes to be a just another hoax (fake). An angle of destroying the ethnic tribe in Bontoc is also considered.

It was started last June 22, 2014, when a website named pinoytrending.altervista.org published an article with a title "Girl arrested for raping her boyfriend". This website is known for giving inaccurate information to the netizens.

On the hoax article provided on pinoytrending.altervista.org website, a woman was arrested in her home by the policemen for alleged rape complaint from his boyfriend named "Mitoy" (18 years old). He complained about being sexually abused by her girlfriend by forcefully doing unwanted weird things on their bed. The 18-year-old victim also added that her girlfriend is a nymphomaniac. There were wounds on his private areas and on other parts of his body, as per the police report.

Elder women of Bontoc strongly condemn this fake controversy because it will cause a negative image on their tribe. The culture of women in Bontoc Mountain Province is to strongly practice the right attitude. The Bontoc women are known to be finesse and seldom to mix with their opposite sex by nature.

Mayor Franklin Odsey didn't like this disgraceful news as the woman on the said fake article is too far from the real characteristics of a lady igorot.

We never had any experience of a lady igorot, particularly of Bontoc, raping a man. - Bontoc Mayor

Even the residents are not believing the news. They insisted that people in their province, especially women, are known to be conservative and cultural oriented.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) - Bontoc, Mountain Province claimed no such event happened on the night of June 21, 2014. They never had a record of a woman raping a man on the said date as what was written in the article.

Pinoytrending.altervista.org website is known for its inaccurate and somewhat ridiculous fake (hoax) articles. They're spreading fake news and lies without considering the people's privacy, ethnic cultures, and other things that can be destroyed by its malicious act over the Internet, particularly in social media platform.
