Disabled man joins 'Voice PH to prove that disability is not a hindrance; sings "Bulag, Pipi, Bingi"

MANILA -- Karlo Mojica is a role model for Persons With Disability who proved that having a disability should not be a reason to not continue a one's dream.

He is a bassist from Makati City. He has been unable to walk since he was a child even though his parents tried to find him a cure. He was seen by different doctors and underwent numerous treatments but unfortunately, he was still unable to walk.

Being a disabled man doesn't stop Mojica to be independent. He decided to join the second season of 'The Voice' to prove that PWD's can reach their dreams just like any other normal people.

On the blind auditions on Sunday, Karlo performed "Bulag, Pipi, Bingi" by Freddie Aguilar where Bamboo turned for him immediately followed by apl.de.ap.

All the four judges gave him a standing ovation together with the studio audience as soon as his performance was finished.

Lea Salonga said that she didn't turn for him due to her team preference but she believes that those two judges who turned their chairs are the right ones for him.

It is heartwarming to see that you can see a solid dream in a man like Karlo, Sarah Geronimo thanked him.

"Napakasarap ng damdamin ng boses mo. That was an amazing performance. We have a similar story. I myself I'm disabled. I'm legally blind but I never let that stop me in achieving my dreams. And I see that, I see that in your heart, in your soul and I think talagang bagay na bagay na tayo at matutulungan natin ang isa't isa. Sana mapunta ka sa team ko," apl.de.ap. commented as one of the two judges who turned chairs for him.

"Sa totoo lang, akala ko ako lang ang umikot eh. Ginawa ko, pinplay down ko pa. Steady lang yung mukha ko, huwag kang maging excited. Tapos may sumama eh. I guess 'yun yun eh. Akala namin kami lang kasi yung boses mo nahuli kami. 'Yung lumalabas sa'yo ay totoo," said Bamboo.

At the end of the day, Karlo Mojica chose to be with Team Bamboo as they have the same experience being in the bands.
