Lyca's Mother Wants Her To Finish Studies

Marianecel Gairanod, mother of Lyca, explained how very happy she was when her daughter became the grand winner of 'The Voice Kids' which she bagged the P1 million cold cash and house and lot as well as other prizes.

"Sobrang saya ko po, walang katumbas na saya dahil natupad niya ‘yung mga pangarap niya sa amin, sa kanilang magkakapatid na makagpag-aral sila. Tapos magkaroon kami ng bahay na sapat na matutulugan, na kapag umuulan hindi kami palipat-lipat o paglumaki ang dagat di kailangan lumikas kami ng ibang lugar para lang makapagpahinga ng maayos," -Marianecel

"I'm so very happy that she was able to fulfill her dreams for us and for her siblings to continue their studies. We were able to have a house where we can peacefully sleep without worrying the need to evacuate to other places whenever the weather becomes bad or the ocean waves becomes too dangerous."

That was what Lyca's mother said during an interview after the last night of competition on Sunday, July, 27, 2014. She also told that they used to live near the shoreline of Cavite.

Being honored as the grand champion of the competition, Lyca won a P1 million cash prize and another P1 million worth of trust fund plus a recording contract with MCA Universal as well as a house and lot from Camella Homes.

Her mother said that Lyca always sees the singing competition would make a way for them to live a decent life. She were always telling her mum that she wanted to join a competition so that she can buy a decent house for the family.

The little superstar started singing when she was just 6 years old. While they were collecting scrap materials in the streets, Lyca sings in front of the people in exchange of some coins which she would use to buy foods. She then started to join the singing competitions in Cavite before entering 'The Voice Kids'.

According to Marianecel, the money from the competition will be used to Lyca's education. She will send her to school.

Lyca always wanted to learn and perform English songs. She is very eager to learn a lot more things in life.

Her mother also said that she will support Lyca's singing career if she wishes to continue it while studying. Education is a must as this is one of the important things that Lyca needs along the way of her career and future life.
