Stories Surrounding The Power Rangers Curse

 The Power Rangers Curse

As kids we enjoyed watching Power Rangers during Saturday mornings. Now let's explore the Where Are They Now/Feel Old Yet? part of Power Rangers franchise. Shockingly, the fates of most of the Power Rangers casts are unfortunate. There is a curse that befell most of the cast and crew of the Power Rangers franchise. Years after their involvement in the project related to Power Rangers they suffered ill fates involving accidental deaths, murder, and succumbing cancer and other deadly diseases.

Most of the Power Rangers cast members did not rise to fame and A-list status despite their popularity when the show is airing. Their ill fates are just revealed every time a new episode dedicated to them was aired. It's tragic indeed to take a look at their 'Where Are They Now' articles to relive childhood nostalgia.

For example, Ricardo Medina Jr, the Red Ranger from Power Rangers Wild Force was arrested for murdering his roommate using a sword back in 2012. It is strange and interesting to consider that the same Red Ranger that most millennials admired back when they were kids also used a short dagger with an animal crystal on it.

Former Power Ranger cast members suffered serious health issues and disease that led to their deaths such as: Bob Manahan( played Zordon) his cause of death was cardiac arrest(died 2000). Eric Frank died the year after Bob Manahan, He suffered a heart disease, just like Bob. Richard Genelle suffered a heart disease just like Bob and Eric, he played Ernie throughout the series. Machiko Soga who played Rita Repulsa died after having complications related to her pancreatic cancer. Original Yellow Ranger Thuy Thang killed during a car crash on 2001. And last notable person who died because of the curse is Peta Rutter, she played Udonna in Power Rangers Mystic Force, she died because of brain tumors.

Many parents, religious groups and concerned citizens are revolted by the violent content of the Power Rangers franchise. Despite missing gore, the series is known for it's stylized violence, mostly involving explosions. At one point, the franchise was even banned in New Zealand. Going back to the curse, here is an enduring question: Have they suffered these tragic fates because of a curse?
