Cockroach found in Mrs. Fields' cookies

Angelica Castada shared her experience with Mrs. Fields. She posted her story and photos of a cookie contaminated by a whole cockroach on Facebook last August 17, 2014.

According to Angelica, they purchased 4 cookies from Mrs. Fields Mall of Asia branch on August 2, 2014. She specified that these were Mrs. Fields Indulgent Creations.

They went to a movie house and ate the 2 cookies. The other 2 were taken to their hotel room.

Just when I decided to consume the remaining cookies, I noticed a brown hair like thing in one of the cookies. I tried to pull it out but it was brittle, so I looked closer and found out it was an antenna of a cockroach. The body of the cockroach was submerged in the cookie and the head peeking out of the chocolate topping. It really grossed me out as we ate the 2 inside the dark movie house. If you really look at it closer, you will see that it was cooked maybe along with the cookie. -Angelica Castada

Angelica further added that she doesn't like posting things like this but she didn't like the way Mrs. Fields responded to that incident. Mrs. Fields offered them gift certificates which she somewhat found insulting.
Why would we want to consume more of their cookies when we just found one with a dead cockroach in it? -Angelica said

According to Angelica, there were employees that got suspended for suspecting that they put the roach in the cookie.

A meeting with the general manager pushed the customer to share this in social media. The general manager was so rude to them, telling that they may have been implanted the cockroach themselves. She also added that no one can prove where the insect really came from since the customers had already taken out the cookies out of the store.

GM also said that there should be nothing to do as there was no medical or health issue. Angelica said that they were insensitive. They did not do anything to correct what was happened and left them with a horrible experience.

Mrs. Fields management kept on reiterating that they were approved by Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) and they have the best quality products.

Angelica said that it is disappointing that they couldn't handle by a well-known international brand like Mrs. Fields.
