St. Benilde Fraternity Member Dies Due To Hazing

MANILA, Philippines - Guillo Cesar Servando, a 2nd year HRM student of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and additional three students was picked up at their condominium around 5:30 PM last Saturday, June 28, 2014, by Alpha Kappa Rho (Akrho) fraternity

Around 9:30 PM the same day since they were taken to the hazing area, the four college students were dropped back to One Archers Place (Taft Avenue, Malate) by the members of the said frat (Akrho). But Guillo, the sophomore student of DLS-CSB, was already dead. His companions called for helped and he was taken by the Manila Red Cross ambulance. He was dead on arrival.



When the three of his companions noticed that he was already dead, they called the local police. The three students were also severely injured and they were immediately taken to the Philippine General Hospital. Police identified these three victims as Lorenze Agustin, 18, of Prime City towers in San Antonio Village, Makati; and John Paul Raval, 18, of One Archers Place as well as a minor-aged CSB student.

Police said Servando, a resident of 8809 Sampaloc St., San Antonio Village, was killed due to the initiation rites of the fraternity.

One of the victims told the police that they were picked up from his condo unit at One Archers Place by Santo Tomas chapter - Akhro members solely for their initiation last Saturday. The car used the frat members was a green Honda CRV without plate number attached. He also told that they were blindfolded for the duration of their travel to the location where the initiation was held.

The wake of Servando, son of entrepreneur Taboy Servando, is being held at the College of Saint Benilde.

One of the students victimized by this hazing also added that they were forced to join the fraternity.

Alpha Kappa Rho (Akrho)is considered as underground fraternity and is not recognized by De La Salle-College Of Saint Benilde.

Legal actions are now in place and police elements are now investigating the crime.

This not a brotherhood anymore, this is murder.
