Anti Sofitel Hotel Online Campaign Enters Day 7 For Banning UNTV Channel

Manila, Philippines - It all started when Sofitel Hotel Philippines discriminated the UNTV Television Station by banning and removing it from the line up of TV channels offered in the hotel premises.
The boycott campaign against Sofitel is still going strong at its day 7, July 20, 2014 with the hashtags #NoToSofitelDay7 and #BoycottSofitelPH sitting steadily at top 1 and top 2 in Twitter's Philippines Trends as of writing.

Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon, during his morning TV porgram "Good Morning Kuya", called the attention of all the "kasambahay" (viewers of UNTV Channel) to boycott and say no to Sofitel Manila for allegedly banning their channel from the hotel's TV station line-up.

It was suddenly all over the internet and became the trend for 7 days and counting. Sofitel Manila undoubedtly earned a lot of negative feedback and reactions from the netizens who showed how disappointed they are by posting in various social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram along with the hashtags #NoToSofitel and #BoycottSofitelPH.

During the very first day of #NoToSofitel, it already grabbed the third spot of being a trending topic worldwide.

The online chant of all the concerned netizens is "STOP DISCRIMINATING THE ONLY PUBLIC SERVICE CHANNEL IN THE PHILIPPINES."

The sentiments of Chairman CEO of UNTV, Daniel Razon, and "kasambahays" are now reaching millions of people through the help of social media platforms.

One of the first posts made by Razon in Facebook on July 15, 2014:

On July 15, 2014, the management of Sofitel Manila issued an official statement addressing the people's concern.
Bonjour! In line with the ongoing campaign to boycott Sofitel Manila, we would like to share with you all the official statement of the management:

“We do not discriminate against any local or international broadcasting television channel. While we supply several television channels for our guests, the channels we air in the hotel are system-limited, and regularly changed based on several factors, including guest feedback and demand.

We are happy to hear the public’s concerns, and will consider to re-instate the UNTV Channel if this is a request from our hotel guests”.

But this didn't stop the boycott campaign, the hashtag #NoToSofitelDay3 trended and #NoToSofitelDay7 is still trending in Twitter as of writing.
